Hi guys, and welcome to another edition of Play Local 5! From this week onwards, you will notice a new theme on our Play Local blog. To save you the confusion, here is a run-down of what’s going to happen from this week onwards. To bring you the best of the best, we will now focus on one sport per blog post so that we can dive deep into the topic and help you out as much as we can.
This week our sole focus is on tennis, which is quite underrated, to be honest. Tennis is an amazing sport for hand-eye coordination, balance, and the general well-being of the human body. It enables the body to focus on more tasks at a time as it requires you to keep your eyes on the ball and take a hit at it at the same time.
A lot of your body parts are in use during the game, including the arms, feet, eyes, hands, and even your brain. Kids as small as five can join several tennis programs around town and start their training today. To make your job a little easier, we have a round-up of five awesome tennis providers from Southern California.
Our first pick of the day is Anaheim tennis and Pickleball Center, located at 975 S State College Blvd Anaheim, CA 92806. They have several weekly events with singles and doubles for different players. You can also sign up for a membership at the club and play to your heart’s content.
If you are a total newbie, then they have coaching programs as well. Just hop onto the website and check out what else they offer!
Our next pick is for all the mommies, daddies, and caretakers out there who are looking for a fun and engaging sports activity to enroll their babies in. The French Junior Tennis League caters to little tots especially to teach them this amazing game.
They have two specific programs based on why you are joining the game. One of them is for mid-level players who are just looking to learn the game and the other targets those who want to pursue this game as a profession in the future.
If you want your kid to start early and train themselves, then this is your place to be!
Altadena Town and Country Club has been around since 1910, which means that they have a lot of experience in the game. They offer a killer tennis court that comes in the long list of amenities in their membership program.
They offer lessons for kids and adults of all ages, starting from as little as four-year-olds. They offer both group and personal training and cover everything from the very basics to the pro level skills. If you ain’t a member, then it isn’t a problem at all, as you can just sign up for the classes.
Next up, we have Irvine Tennis, who is serving in Southern California since 1978. With almost 3 decades of experience, they have a problem with all your solutions. If you want to join a class, call them, if you are looking for a killer court to play a session, book them!
They also have a lot of cool brands on board as their partners.
Lastly, we cannot write an entire article about tennis and not mention rental courts. Therefore, our last pick is bobby riggs, a very cool place where you can rent out a tennis court for tournaments and private games.
You can rent the court space for $20 an hour and have a go at your favorite game with friends and family!
With this, we are going to take a leave from this edition of Play Local. If you like this article, rate us in the feedback section below and let us know what sport you would like us to cover next!
