Eat Clean – No New Year, New Diet!
Every January of every year millions of people decide it’s time for a diet. Whilst dieting is a great way to lose weight there are plenty of more sustainable methods to eating right than trying to cut carbs/dairy/sugar or whatever else. Eating clean is something that can be done throughout the year making it a sustainable and safe option to losing weight or maintaining your current physique. The best thing about eating clean means you don’t have to cut anything specific, if you love cheese great, if you love bread, that’s fine too. Eating clean means monitoring what you eat and taking it all into consideration. Plus by cutting out processed foods and opting for more nutritional whole foods will give you the opportunity to learn how to cook new things.
Manage your mental health
2020 was a tough year both physically and mentally but you made it through! This year take time to look after your mental health from the start, even when you might not think it’s needed. Adjusting your schedule to include time for yourself or activities that help your well being means you’re more prepared if you start to struggle. Activities such as, going for a walk, time disconnected from your phone, and crafts are all things you can do to help manage your mental health. Don’t feel pressured to set resolutions or feel as though you need to achieve big things this year. Looking after your mental health and having a positive outlook is more than enough.
Become a more active person
The best thing about participating in sports or visiting a leisure center is (no, not the sauna) that you’ll become both physically and mentally fitter. Regular exercise looks after your entire body making it a great way to feel better about yourself, increase mental wellbeing, and lowering your risk of illness. Of course, if you’re a beginner there is no need to go and run a marathon or lift the biggest weights you can find. Starting from the basics and building up is more than enough to put you on the right path to live a healthier life. Not sure what sports are right for you or what is available in your local area?
