Whether you’re a disciplined athlete wanting to play competitively or just looking for a fun way to get active and socialise with friends this edit will inspire you to explore the sporting world within your local community. Each week we’ll be sharing 5 hand-picked sports activity providers that we think go above and beyond for their community of fitness and sports enthusiasts. If you want to know more about the local sporting community keep on reading…
We wanted to kick things off with a unique exercise experience that some of you might not even know existed but it’s been making a splash within the local community. Aqua Cycling Corp is a proud American facility that offers, you guessed it, cycling in water. This experience blends the fun of cycling, music of aerobics and gives you all health benefits of exercising in water. These classes are run by a team of experts who know the ins and outs of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Located at 14708 Hawthorne Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260 we would highly recommend giving it a go – you’d be amongst over 850 customers who have already given the class their seal of approval.
Hitting the gym has great physical health benefits but at Wilfit Sports Club they also recognise the mental benefits of including regular exercise in your weekly routine. The gym works hard for its customers and really values their mental well-being. Located in the heart of Los Angeles’ Koreatown at 3470 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90010 this a fantastic sports club where you can build your fitness gains, your mental health gains and become a better you. They have fantastic, modern facilities that include extensive free weights, cardio equipment, and lots of machines that members can have access to. Alongside these facilities, there is also the option to join in with as many classes as you like (all members get unlimited access) and there is are fantastic personal trainers on hand should you want to get some specialist 1:1 advice on meeting your fitness goals. We also love that one you sign up for a membership there is no initiation fee and when you pay for the year upfront you’ll get two months free which makes this great value for money.
Soccer camps are a great way to get your kids enthusiastic about sports, build confidence and make new friends. As someone who went to sporting camps myself as a child I can highly recommend them – I have so many fond memories of waking up with my friends and participating in a sport that I was so passionate about. Georges Ba is a former International Pro Soccer Player who now offers his expertise to children at a variety of soccer camps that take place throughout the year. George has won many awards for his skills and his camps give kids the opportunity to train like a pro all whilst enjoying the fun environment of camp. As well as offering camps children can receive professional training. Summer Soccer Camp is coming soon so make sure you keep your eyes out for the opportunity to sign up and get involved this season.
A type of exercise that has continued to grow in popularity over the past demi-decade is Yoga. With so many mental and physical benefits it’s easy to see the appeal of yoga, Core Power Yoga is a dedicated facility that has everything you need whether you’re a beginner or experienced. We love the fact that they offer on-demand classes and live-streamed sessions which you can access from your phone – this is especially great for those with busy schedules who struggle to make time for exercise. The studio is located at 3131 S. Hoover Street, Suite 1940, Los Angeles, CA 90089, 704.946.7931. If you still need more reasons to give yoga here are our top 3 benefits: improved respiration, energy and vitality; maintaining a balanced metabolism; and, cardio and circulatory health.
Table Mountain Golf is our 5th and final sports activity provider. Golf is the perfect sport for all abilities, you can play competitively or use it as a social activity to spend time with family and friends. They have a fantastic Women’s Gold Club which enables females to feel empowered when on the course and crushes the stereotypes of golf being a masculine sport which we love to see. The facilities are incredible, the courses span a large plot of land that is maintained to the highest standard. This club really is a little oasis ready to offer you a relaxing atmosphere in which you can improve your skills, socialise and enjoy the views.
