Week 6 – Play Local 5

Week 6

Hi guys, and welcome to the 6th Edition of SPORFORYA5! This week we are committed to staying active. This is why we have a round-up of the 5 places that will keep you on the move amidst the lockdown.

Some of these places are planning on opening their facilities with full safety procedures in place. They are all set to welcome you with open arms to keep your body moving. Others are coping up with the lockdown by offering one on one online sessions!

Our first pick for this week is one of my favorite pastimes. I have grown up grooving to the beats of different soundtracks, either alone in my room or with a group of friends. I have such fond memories connected to dancing and the joy it brings in my life.

The feeling of being free and floating in thin air is like no other, and that is why I would like to introduce you all to the Arthur Murray Dance Centers. With numerous studios all over Southern California, including Beverly Hills, San Diego, and Long Beach, the academy has made quite a name for themselves.

They offer a variety of different dance lessons, such as Latin, ballroom, country, swing, and others. However, given the situation of the world right now, they are not open for business. But the good news is that they are offering online lessons for either a single person or a couple. How cool is that?

They charge a fair deal of $40 per class, which is a good way to try their services.

You have the perfect opportunity to learn a fun activity at home and stay in shape at the same time. Their facility is world-renowned and they have over 100 years of experience. They are the number one in the world, and that speaks volumes about their professionalism and dedication to their center.

A lot of people confuse softball with baseball because they have similar rules and their fields are practically the same. However, even though they are pretty similar, they have a few differences that set them apart from each other. Softball is an excellent summer sport and is usually played in July.

You must have guessed that our next pick for the week is a softball club, but what you don’t know is that this facility is exclusively for girls. Orange Canyon Girls Softball usually caters to girls ages 4 to 14. Their next camp is from 20th to 24th July 2020, so you should definitely try it out if your kids fall in the age group.

This camp will focus on the basic skills, on which your child can further build on later in their lives. They are based out of 1401 N Handy St, Orange, CA.

Our next facility is the best recipe to beat the Californian heat. The Water Waves swimming services are more like a one-stop solution for all your pool needs. They have at-home lessons, a lifeguard service, and they even offer CPR courses.

They provide many other pool-related services as well around Southern California. At Water Waves, they promise to teach you how to swim, no matter what your expertise level is. They are also very extremely inclined towards student-trainer safety, and they take all possible precautions before starting the sessions.

You can either call them on their number or fill out the form on the website to schedule your lesson at home with certified instructors.

If you are planning on throwing a pool party after the situation is in control, then they have you covered as well. You can call and hire a lifeguard through their agency!

All of us here at SPORFORYA are huge believers of the fact that we must keep our bodies in motion and workout regularly. This is the main reason behind featuring a gym in almost all of our articles.

The next pick is one of the best fitness facilities in all of Los Angeles. The Wilfit Sports Club aims to provide the best service amid the pandemic as well. They are opening up with less than 30% of their members at a time.

On their website, you can find out the complete details of how they plan on tackling the situation while making it better for anyone who wants to gym during the pandemic. They have several personal trainers on board with them who commit to providing you with one-on-one attention during your workout sessions.

These trainers provide you with customized meal plans and workout routines to help you achieve your fitness goals.

One thing that stood out for us was their membership plans. They offer plans starting from one day to one year. So you can always run a trail with them before purchasing one of the plans for a longer duration.

Coming towards their actual facility at 3470 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, Ca has state of the art gyming equipment along with a variety of pilates and cardio machines. They also have secure lockers and clean shower areas.

We would recommend you to check out their facility at least once if you live in the area.

As this week was all about being on your foot and adapting to a healthy life by staying in motion, it is only fitting to end it with something to cool down your body after an intense workout. This is why our last pick of the week is California Yoga Company.

If you are new to yoga, you have nothing to worry about with the Yoga Company, as they are offering online lessons due to the COVID’19. You can register yourself for their next session and tune in to their lesson to unwind without a worry.

They believe in the principle of strong basics, therefore, they offer four different levels of classes. Check out their website and maybe visit them after the situation is in control. Their studio is at 1586 Bush, San Francisco, CA.

On this note, we are going to end our 6th edition of the SPORFORYA5. Let us know what sports you want us to cover next and what providers do you think are doing an excellent job during such tough times!

Thank you for reading and don’t forget to stay active!

Until next time,
