Even though sports are an excellent way to keep oneself active, a lot of people shy away from it because of their lack of interest and the constant pressure of joining in the run of the mill games.
However, we completely understand your stance, and that is why this week we are dedicating our post to all those people who are looking for physical activity, other than the traditional games. We have a round-up of five such sports and their providers who are doing an excellent job of promoting unconventional sports.
All of these are really good team-building activities as well if you are looking for some fun in a professional capacity.
Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Ever since I started practicing yoga in the early hours of the morning, I realized that I haven’t felt better than this in ages. My days are happier, I feel fresh, and I overall stay extremely positive throughout the day. This made me realize that yoga or stretching is extremely beneficial for a positive day.
This is why our first provider for today is a yoga center, located at 4460 Alvarado Canyon Road San Diego, CA 92120. The Grotto Yoga Studio is an all-inclusive center as they believe in celebrating versatility and diversity.
They welcome people from all walks of life regardless of their expertise level. Currently on the schedule Grotto offers Hatha classes, Vinyasa, Restorative, Pranayama, and Meditation, as well as myofascial release.
All sessions are limited to a few students, so that it is easier to pay attention to each one of them. Each session is one and a half-hour long, with pricing between $57 to $120 per month.
Here is a link to their membership programs. Also, they have killer rock climbing classes and facilities, while you are there for yoga, don’t forget to check it out as well!
Our next pick for this week is running!
Due to the recent pandemic, many employees are struggling with keeping up the team spirit while working from home. That is why, when the companies open up for business, they would need some serious activities to perform like they used to.
The 100-mile club provides school owners and bosses the perfect opportunity to keep their team in perfect shape. The club offers many team bonding activities, and they all revolve around running and helping each other stay active. How cool is that?!
They offer multiple different programs from students, businesses, adults, and senior citizens. So for students, the 100 miles club hosts a competition with neighboring schools and the participants can complete their miles during the free time.
The school that gets done first is the winner. In our opinion, it is an excellent activity to not only build a sports spirit but also to teach children the importance of staying active and avoiding childhood obesity.
Similarly, they have a corporate wellness, adult individual, wisdom walkers senior group, and club 262 programs on their agenda. All plans have their unique set of rules and are equally amazing!
Currently, they are only hosting quite a few virtual running groups for summers, you can check them out here.
Equipped with an amazing set of instructors, the Soul Cycle supports one of the best cycling facilities in Southern California. They are a team of professionals, including nutritionists, personal trainers, and fitness instructors who encourage you to connect with your soul through cycling.
Their studio houses several mechanical cycles and the sessions are full of energy with exciting music, which motivates you to further push yourself and give it your one-hundred perfect. Cycling is an excellent physical activity, which keeps you fit and also tones your legs and calves.
They are now open for business while following all the government instructions. You can either book a bike for a single session or become a member.
One thing that truly stands out about their service is that they are completely transparent about all the steps that are taking to keep both you and their instructors safe. In return, they are asking you to help them by following the instructions so that they can keep on providing the service. We encourage you all to read them before visiting them in San Diego.
Gymnastics is an excellent quality to enlist in your child from an early age. It is completely children friendly and teaches them control over their bodies from a young age. It further enables them to have better coordination and achieve flexibility.
The Golden State Gymnastics offers courses for boys and girls of 6 months to 18 years. Potential clients who are 6+ can also attend a free session and then enroll in any of the 6 programs that they offer.
All of their classes are fully air-conditioned with state of the art equipment, including tumble tramps, a rod tumbling floor, plenty of mats, and a dedicated preschool area.
Our last pick this week is one of the best types of exercise that keeps you fit and active at the same time. It helps you gain immense strength due to its unique techniques and tools. Burn Pilates is one such studio where they combine HIIT, Cardio, and pilates to create a combination of routine, which keeps you on your toes throughout the session.
Hardcore Pilates builds strength, pumps up the heart, and tones your entire body. A challenging full-body workout keeps you motivated, focused, and increases your tolerance for other physical activities.
All of their studios are well lit with updated equipment to suit your workout, along with dressing rooms and fitness bouquets. Not only do they facilitate their clients with group workouts, but they also offer one on one training to help you reach your goals.
Expecting mothers or women who just went through childbirth can also enroll with them for tailored programs. They have over 8 years of experience with this and they guarantee a safe environment for a fun, challenging, and focused workout. If you are currently expecting a child in a few months, then we suggest you check out their e-book, which comes with nutrition-based meal plans and workout routines.
They are currently not functioning at their main studios, but they do have an active burning class available virtually for all.
